Poultry farmers are facing challenges of power outages and water shortages

 

The Secretary of the Broiler Chicken Breeders' Association said: "Based on statistics, the monthly placement of 130 million chicks meets the country's demand and strategic reserves." 

Currently, poultry farmers are facing six-hour daily power cuts, and on top of that, there is no subsidized diesel available for generators. As a result, they are forced to buy diesel at market prices. 
The Deputy Ministry of Livestock stated that even with production difficulties—such as electricity cuts, lack of diesel, purchasing water by tanker, and volatility in animal feed prices—the set price still fails to meet production expenses. 

The Secretary of the Broiler Chicken Producers Association stated that while the monthly placement of 130 million chicks is sufficient to meet demand - including strategic reserves - he added: "Officials from the Deputy Ministry of Livestock Affairs claim that 150 million chicks were placed in July. However, given the current production challenges, we cannot confirm with certainty that this number of chicks was actually placed." 

He stated: "When the Deputy Ministry of Livestock Affairs fails to fulfill its commitments, it becomes impossible to implement the government-set prices. Moreover, the announced official prices are not realistic in the first place."
